The winds of opposition and persecution can try to cool the spiritual temperature of any Christian. Paul stokes the fire of Timothy's heart by reminding him of their friendship, the history of Timothy's faith, and the gift that he'd be entrusted with. Just as Timothy was to fan into flame this gift, so too, may we be zealous in using the gifts God has given us.
