The song Israel sings in Exodus 15 is because of the deliverance God performed in chapter 14. It’s the first song of its kind in the Bible, but it is not the last. Christians are, and always have been, a singing people. Singing uniquely enables us to feel deeply the things we know and believe. So we sing of the greatness of God, what he has done for us, and what he will do for us.
