The plot line of many popular movies echoes the story of redemption found in Exodus. A people in a desperate situation, ruled by a terrible villain. What they need is someone to come and defeat the villain so they can go free. We see that Egypt is a place of death (Sheol), like a watery grave from which Israel needs resurrection. Someone must come and destroy the sea-dragon (Pharaoh) that rules this watery grave. In Exodus 7:1-13 that contest begins between God and the serpent.
