To understand the good news, we must first understand the bad news. To truly glory in the wonder of the exodus in chapter 14, we need to feel the slavery of chapter 5. And then for us now as the reader, we get a vivid picture of what was our own slavery to Satan and sin and then more fully glory in the wonder of Christ’s redemption of us.
